A Tet Holiday full of cultural identities at the flower steet Home Hanoi Xuan 2022

On January 22, the program “Learning about Vietnam 2022” marked the opening of the flower street “Home Hanoi Xuan 2022” at Mailand Hanoi City (Splendora, North An Khanh, Hanoi). The program introduced the traditional Tet space, rich in identity, to international delegates.

The program “Learning about Vietnam 2022” took place on the morning of January 22, attracting the participation of Ambassadors/ Heads of Representatives from the Diplomatic Corps and International Organizations in Vietnam. The Vietnamese Ambassador takes the mission with the ASEAN Women’s Circle of Hanoi – AWCH. The program “Learning about Vietnam 2022” was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the framework of the flower street “Home Hanoi Xuan 2022” in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Hoai Duc District People’s Committee, UNESCO, and UN-Habitat.

During the program, delegates were invited to visit the flower street and experience cultural activities and traditional craft villages, such as wrapping Banh Chung or writing wishes on the lucky tree. The program also brings unique art performances, showing the traditional culture of Vietnam. Delegates also had the opportunity to enjoy Tet’s traditional cuisine and be updated with information about Vietnam’s socio-economic and cultural achievements.

This is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2015 in order to update the country’s socio-economic achievements and promote Vietnamese culture to international friends. This year, the program is held within the framework of the flower street “Home Hanoi Xuan 2022” with the theme “The Golden Journey of Tet Holiday-an event to promote the beauty of Vietnamese traditional Tet and promote the image of Hanoi as a creative city according to UNESCO’s construction project “Creative Cities Network.”

“This is a special, impressive and most complete event in 20 years. This is the first time I celebrated Tet in Vietnam and by participating in this event, we have experienced many aspects of the Tet Holiday. These beautiful memories of Spring 2022 in Vietnam will be engraved in our memory”, Mr. SAADI SALAMA, Head of diplomatic missions of other countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine in Vietnam shared.

The show also marks the launching of the Pont de Long Bien walking street, inspired by the historic bridge. The walking street Pont de Long Bien is the intersection of traditional features with modern elements. In the pedestrian area, there are also stalls reproducing the scene of Hanoi in the 19th century, creating a place to experience the atmosphere of the Tet market in the past and present.

On the flower street and pedestrian walking street, there are art activities associated with culture and creativity, such as folk art, fashion, spring flower wall, traditional craft villages, folk games, the exhibition “Hanoi Is…”, interactive AR technology, and green power station, which promise to bring new journeys of discovery for visitors.

Heading towards the goal of contributing to Hanoi’s building of a civilized capital while preserving historical values, “Home Hanoi Xuan 2022” is meant as a “piece” connecting history, creating a connection between the past and the future, connecting space and time, sparking creativity for young people, preserving traditional local values and being a new playground for people in the west of Hanoi during each Tet holiday.
